Chinese soprano Heming Li is currently training as a Young Artist on the Global Talent Programme at the National Opera Studio (NOS), London under the support of Nicholas John Scholarship. She was the winner of 2024 OFFIES Opera Performance Award, 2022 International Concerto Competition, and the finalist of Croydon Concerto Competition and International Festival of Operatic Singers “Maria Kraja”. Her operatic experience includes Liù Turandot (The Opera Maker), Violetta La Traviata (Manchester City Opera), Königin der Nacht Die Zauberflöte (RCM Opera School), Controller Flight (RCM Opera School) Marguerite Faust (Arcadian Opera), Donna Anna Don Giovanni (Arcadian Opera). Claire Seymour praised her voice of “soared through the stratospheric arcs with ease, “astonishingly clear diction, the colour and tone immensely gratifying” (Opera Today). Her cast of Liù in Turandot by The Opera Maker was sensationally applauded by many critiques, as her “standout performance was delivered with beautiful vocals and finely judged acting” (Karl O’Doherty, The Review Hub), “lit the stage up brilliantly every time she appeared” (Raphael Kohn, All That Dazzles).

She graduated with a Master of Performance degree with distinction from the Royal College of Music (RCM). During her study at the RCM, she studied with renowned musicians such as Marie Mclaughlin, Nelly Miricioiu, Gianluca Terranova, Justin Lavender, Luciana Serra and Mario Diaz. She had also collaborated with worldwide recognised conductors such as Martin Andre, Juan Antonio Ortuño, Kai Röhrig, Sergio Baietta, and others. In addition, she had had the honour of performing for His Majesty King Charles III in concerts during his visit to RCM in November 2021. She previously graduated with a Master of Art degree from University of Birmingham and an Undergraduate Performance degree from China Conservatory of Music.

 

Her upcoming performance includes The Magic of Vienna concert with Guildford Symphony Orchestra in February and the global premiere of opera The Stone God in November.
